Conflict resolution empowers the participants to maintain control of the process and the outcome. It is the age-old technique of sitting down to air the problem, expressing how the problem is making each participant feel, and together creating a solution that each person can embrace.
Somehow we seem to have moved away from talking things out. There's a desperate need to return to our roots of civility and humanity.
We owe this to our children.
