Barb Adams' experience in education spans more than 33 years.  While in the classroom, she was recognized by the New York State Federation of Health Educators at its annual confernece as NYS Outstanding Teacher.  In her first year as building administrator, Barb reduced teachers' written disciplinary referrals to the office by 50%.  By using a team approach with her staff, she helped to strengthen teachers' classroom management skills.  She was tapped by Central Office to conduct Assertive Discipline workshops for teachers new to the district. Barb actively coached the teachers she supervised through inquiry-based questioning, helping them identify and celebrate their successes, while guiding them to positively address their challenges.

Barb has presented numerous times at State conferences on the topics of diversity, self-empowerment and story telling as a lesson topic teaser technique.

Barb Adams worked for the East Irondequoit Central School District in Rochester, NY for 26 years, serving six of those as the Middle School Assistant Principal.  For an overlapping year and half, Barb was the Interim Director of K-12 Health and Physical Education.  For 20 years prior to this she taught health and PE in the EICSD.  Barb also taught high school PE in the Niskayuna CSD in Schenectady, NY, and H&PE for the Middle Country CSD on Long Island, NY.  Additionally, Barb taught summer school for the Monroe BOCES #1 in Rochester, NY.  Currently, Barb has also worked as a consultant at Genesee Valley BOCES in LeRoy, NY.
